Removal of 1,4-Dioxane from Water by UV/TiO2 Advanced Oxidation
PúblicoContenido Descargable
open in viewerThe goal of this project was to evaluate the effectiveness of using titanium dioxide impregnated glass fibers and UV light as an Advanced Oxidation Process to remove 1,4-dioxane from water. Samples were subjected to different reaction times and variable solution pH. 1,4-Dioxane degradation increased linearly with time and peaked at a solution pH of 7. A first order reaction rate constant of 0.042 min-1 was found from the data collected and used in a scaled-up design.
