The goal of this project was to evaluate the effectiveness of using titanium dioxide impregnated glass fibers and UV light as an Advanced Oxidation Process to remove 1,4-dioxane from water. Samples were subjected to different reaction times and variable solution pH. 1,4-Dioxane degradation increased linearly with time and peaked at a solution pH of 7. A first order reaction rate constant of 0.042 min-1 was found from the data collected and used in a scaled-up design.
