The goal of this project is to examine the need for a nuclear science minor program at WPI. Beginning with a review of WPI's previous nuclear program which focused solely on power generation, and continuing with a look at the current state of nuclear science, it was found that a multidisciplinary academic program would benefit the students of WPI. The current state of nuclear science was looked at through a study of current research trends in nuclear science, applications of nuclear science in different fields and nuclear science programs of other universities.
