Fenton's oxidation of TCE contaminated water
PúblicoThis project was to evaluate Fenton's oxidation (iron-catalyzed advanced oxidation) of trichloroethylene (TCE) in water. It was found that an average of 99.6% of TCE was removed at a pH of 3.5 and a [H0]: [Fe]:[TCE] molar ratio of [25]:[2]:[1]. It was also determined that 96.7% of TCE was removed within 10 minutes after the hydrogen peroxide was added. Using the parameters identified in this work, a reactor was designed for full-scale removal of TCE from water.
