Effects of low protein diet on gene expression using microarray analysis

Public

This project was completed in collaboration with the Military Nutrition Division of the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine located in Natick, Massachusetts to conduct gene expression profiling of rat brain tissue following dietary manipulation. Taking a discovery-based approach, cDNA array technology was used to survey mRNA expression which provides information on changes in gene expression. Results from this project, the first to our knowledge using the application of microarray technology to monitor dietary effects in the brain, include preliminary information that will be used for subsequent research to define mechanisms accounting for behavioral changes.
