Interaction Assay for LIG Superfamily Proteins

open in viewerThe LIG superfamily is characterized by its unique extracellular domain structure which contains a series of leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) followed by one or more Immunoglobulin (Ig) domains. Knowledge about biological pathways regulated by LIG family members is still at its infancy, though some members have been associated with novel biological functions such as inhibition of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in Drosophila and neuronal regeneration in humans. The goal of this project was: to design a high-throughput protein interaction assay to rapidly identify potential binding partners for LIG family members that may provide insight to their biological function.
