An analysis of JavaServer Faces as a tool for the creation of rich user interfaces

Public

Software operating in a web browser is limited in how it allows the user to interact with server software. Emerging technologies, such as the JavaServer Faces (JSF) specification, have the potential to bring to the web the richness associated with desktop application. We evaluate the MyFaces, an implementation of JSF, as a technology for developing rich web-based user interfaces. We use Lincoln Laboratory's PTRACK application as a test bed and compare MyFaces to a presentation framework called Common Controls.
