open in viewerThe purpose of this project was to explore three modes of zero emission public transportation -- electric trolley buses, modern trams, and light rail -- for Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). We performed a side-by-side comparison of the performance aspects and costs associated with these systems, gave insights on how they could be implemented into HKSAR, and identified possible social impacts associated with this implementation. These goals were obtained through case studies, archival research, and interviews of transportation professionals.
