Worcester has not fully experienced the information technology boom that has occurred just 20 miles away. By request of the Worcester Info Tech Corp., we assessed the Worcester-area workforce through interviews, archival research and existing data. We determined that a lack of skilled workers is not the determining factor of information technology businesses locating elsewhere. We recommend that Worcester needs to improve in several areas. Improvements in marketing and the regional airport are two aspects that could help to attract businesses.
