The goal of this project was to compare the WPI Insight program with the more traditional major selection assistance offered by the Academic Advising office and the Career Development Center (CDC). Information was gathered through interviews with WPI staff and a student survey. WPI's Insight program and the CDC's Major Selection Program were compared against best practices to determine their effectiveness. Overall, WPI's major selection system is satisfactory because the systems shows a high rate of student satisfaction and comfort with their selected major, although some adjustments could be made to further improve upon it.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
