PublicContenu téléchargeable
open in viewerLocated in Khayelitsha, an informal settlement outside of Cape Town, South Africa, the Indlovu Centre seeks to promote community development through ecologically mindful practices. Our group worked with the community to design and build a communal laundry facility to help alleviate the labour-intensive task of washing. In keeping with the ideas of permaculture and sustainability central to the planned development of an Eco-Village in all of Monwabisi Park, rainwater harvesting and an irrigation system were integrated for a final design capable of operating with no input of municipal water and no emitted waste.
