GoatConnect is a live website created by a former MQP group with the goal of having past and present student athletes form meaningful relationships and gain job opportunities. The past MQP developed an effective base application that allowed alumni to post jobs and for athletes to apply to them. However, it was missing important features that would effectively help students to build their professional network, such as an area for messaging. Along with adding additional elements to GoatConnect, we aim to refactor the current structure and migrate the application to a permanent location. Lastly, we wish to generalize this website so that other WPI athletic organizations can adopt it in the future. Ultimately, the goal of this MQP is design, implement, and test new features for GoatConnect to complete the initial objective of creating an application to help current student athletes connect with alumni and overall strengthen the football community.
