Management Engineering Analysis of WPI Lunabotics Engineering Team
Público DepositedContenido Descargable
open in viewerThe goal of this project is to document the management of the WPI Lunabotics MQP from an outside perspective to formulate and implement recommendations. The rationale behind making these recommendations is that any project team should aim to complete their project as efficiently and in the most cost-effective way possible. The project's current state of the art is a group of engineering students working to improve a robot from a previous project. The team started with little direction or firm goals. The methods used to formulate and implement recommendations are axiomatic design, Gannt charts, a continuous improvement process, economic breakdown, structural lenses for observation, and asset maps. The results show that we are able to identify gaps and overlaps in the project that allow for improvement in efficiency and reducing costs. We conclude that we were able to provide recommendations that helped influence the team to make more efficient decisions. The team did not directly use all our recommendations but were able to use them as an influence to create their own solutions.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
