Passive Vortex-Induced Vibration Control
公开可下载的内容
open in viewerVortex-induced vibration energy harvesters depend on a steady state flow velocity to generate the condition of lock-in. Past research is examined and it is shown that altering the angle of incidence at which the shedding structure experiences fluid flow changes the frequency at which vortices are shed. A prototype design is submitted for a system which passively adjusts the angle of incidence in response to changes in fluid flow. A mathematical model predicts a system which could be capable of dynamically adjusting for a total change in 0.311 m/s flow velocity.
