Internet Campaign Strategies in the 2010 Massachusetts Gubernatorial Election

open in viewerThe internet is a greatly expanding source of information in the digital age, and has been used extensively in political campaigns in the past several years. In the 2010 election for Massachusetts governor, campaigns used social networking tools as a way of soliciting donations, spreading messages, and recruiting supporters. Internet and exit polling and monitoring of website content were used to ascertain the effectiveness of these strategies and their role in future campaigns.
