Mapping of nematode C. elegans genes srf-2 and srf-6
PublicThe composition of the surface coat of the nematode C. elegans changes in response to environmental conditions through surface antigen switching. Two genes, srf-2 and srf-6, affect the surface coat of C. elegans by different means. Previous studies narrowed the position of srf-2 on a physical map to cosmid F37D6. Likewise, srf-6 was determined to lie at least partially within cosmid F41G3. These results are being extended by DNS transformation/ marker rescue of srf-2 and transposon tagging of srf-6.
