open in viewerThis project developed and tested a facilitation process that can be used to enhance communication, knowledge, and awareness concerning the management of environmental problems in rural Thai communities. To test this process, we conducted focus groups and interviews in the village of Huay King in order to identify stakeholder groups, define environmental problems and solutions, and assess the current capacity and responsibilities of each group. From this information, we then compiled recommendations for action plans, such as educational programs and public relations campaigns, for opportunities to improve the community's ability to manage environmental problems.
