The Influence of the North End of Boston on the rise and decline of the North End Union, 1892-1998

Pubblico

The Benevolent Fraternity of Unitarian Churches established the North End Union, a social service agency in the North End of Boston, in 1892 to benefit immigrants. Life in the North End during the twentieth century is explored through oral history and interviews as well as through historical data collected from archival material and newspapers. The North End Union rose to meet the needs of the community and consequently fell due to poor leadership.
