Thessaloniki, Greece has a distinctive political climate, where the younger generation engages with current events in diverse ways—reflected in their daily lives. The team uncovered the concerns of youth and observed their responses within their communities. Through interviews with 20 locals, surveys with 118 youth, and photo documentation, three issues impacting youth surfaced: government distrust, lack of opportunities, and shortcomings of the education system. The team crafted a narrative portraying youth’s reactions and responses to issues impacting them—utilizing the ‘fight, flight, or freeze’ framework. Our findings indicate dissatisfaction with the Greek government and a divide in ways youth respond, indicating a lack of emphasis on community necessary to address these issues.
