The goal of this project was to design and assess the value of an innovative roofing system that integrates a green roof with solar panels and a water collection system. Through research and testing, we were able to determine the thermal, drainage, weight, and solar properties of our roofing layers in order to conduct a life-cycle cost analysis for use on residential homes. A wood truss with a polygonal top chord was designed to support the roof structure.
