Design of a radio controlled micro air vehicle
PubblicoThe goal of this MQP was to design, fabricate, and test a radio-controlled Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) to compete in the 2003 International MAV Surveillance Competition at the University of Florida. The final design incorporated a miniature gas propeller engine with custom modified throttle; a lightweight foam wing machined using WPI's CNC milling machines in Washburn Shops; and a durable, handmade balsawood fuselage. The maximum linear dimension is approximately 20.3 centimeters (8 inches) and the total weight is approximately 113 grams. The MAV has achieved a successful tethered flight.
