Gateway II Renovation: Design-Construction Analysis
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis project revolved around the construction of new laboratory spaces in the Gateway II Building on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Observation and interview methods were used to evaluate how the final stages of the design process of a fast-tracked construction project were impacted by the simultaneous start of construction. The complex ways in which different stakeholders interact with one another in this context were also analyzed. The design portion of this project was the design of a usable outdoor space to the east of the Gateway II Building, which could be constructed following the completion of the renovations.
