Task-specific software for engineering
PubblicoThis project involved the development of a software program that would automate the drawing of tape surveys and septic designs. The program substantially simplifies and greatly reduces the time required to produce these designs. The program consists of a series of steps, most of which involve simple fill-in forms. Speed and efficiency is increased by storage of needed information in databases. Examples of information stored in the databases are repetitive information, like the engineer's name, and variable information, such as setback requirements of a specific town or required leaching areas for different soil types. The system is designed such that a person with very limited engineering knowledge could complete a plan that would only require review and verification from an engineer.
