open in viewerOur team developed this Interactive Qualifying Project independently of a sponsoring organization; however, following our arrival in Costa Rica, the Instituto Costarricense de Pesca y Acuicultura (INCOPESCA) formally adopted us. Our project focused on documenting the knowledge fish producers had about tilapia aquaculture and determining information in need of compilation and distribution. Interviews we conducted demonstrated that while there was no available written information on the subject, a need existed for such. Following these findings, we provided information in the form of a manual, which we distributed through INCOPESCA. Our objectives were to increase tilapia production efficiency, to support job creation, and to encourage generating a good source of protein.
