Trends observed for the contaminant levels in drinking water, on the state level, were checked against nationwide data to determine correlations. Contaminant levels were seen to depend on population densities and industry. An article was written and is pending publication in the Journal of Hydrology. This study demonstrated that there are observable trends in drinking water quality in the United States as well as Massachusetts.
