Stock Market Simulation

open in viewerIn this Interactive Qualifying Project (IQP), a 4-week stock market simulation was conducted to determine which of the two trading methods would yield the best results, buying and holding stocks versus options trading. Before the simulation, I researched various companies and the different forms of trading methods/styles. I was given an initial $100,000 to trade using Investopedia’s trading simulator. Throughout each week, I would use technical analysis for my options account, while looking for dip buying opportunities on my buying and holding account. The overall performance for the two portfolios was: buying and holding (-1.77%) and options trading (-6.16%). This project was an informative learning experience and has formed a strong foundation if I continue to trade options or invest.
