In this Major Qualifying Project, the team designed quick-change fixtures for two types of machines at the Symmes Road Plant at GE Engine Services in Hamilton, Ohio. The fixtures developed for the dot peen and EDM machines worked for several product lines, reducing errors, rework, and setup time. The project results include the actual fixtures that were built and applied in the shop, training the operators with the new tooling, and updating the operational planning that was affected by the designs.
