Frequency-specific effects routing
PublicA device allowing external audio effects to a specific band of frequencies was created. An Analog Devices 21161N Digital Signal Processor (DSP) performed real-time finite impulse response (FIR) filtering on the input signal. A Microchip PIC16F877 interfaced user controls and displayed filter parameters on an LCD. The desired frequency band frequency band was routed through external effects and then mixed with the original signal. Ultimately, effects were applied to chosen frequencies rather than the entire signal.
