Expression of PTEN in normal and neoplastic nerve tissue

Public

PTEN is a novel tumor suppressor gene that is deleted in 70% of glioblastomas. Using rtPCR, western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and immunoprecipitations, we studied the expression of PTEN in rat glioma and pheochromocytoma and human glioblastoma, cell lines. Our results suggest that lack of PTEN protein may be involved in the tumorigenicity of these cell lines.
