Friday, January 31, 1913 The coldest and most disagreeable day of the year. Tremendously cold with a most disagreeable wind. Went over to State farm in morning to see an elevator arranged so that the corn is elevated independantly of raising the wagon. A lever which can be shifted so that either the wagon dump or the elevator will work independently but not simultaneously. It took 2.20 min to elevator 1.15 to raise wagon - a total of 3 min 35 sec. Went to a dinner at Rock Island Club given by Devore Simonson. I took Elise Koehler. 92 Beaters 103 Spreader Frames. Bed 11.45
