WEDNESDAY, Jan. 7, 1920 7 Reached Syracuse at 10:45 AM Spent the day at the Syracuse Chilled Plow Co and John Deere Plow Co. In talking with Barlow it develops that what they want for the Maine territory is really a spring tooth & shovel rig more than anything else. In certain parts of New York State they want to get narrower for bean cultivation. This would mean possibly 300 or 400 cultivators a year. It looks as though the wise way would be to redisign the K.C. to have narrower track. They want K.C. rigs as short as possible. The rig for Maine should be heavy and as short as possible K.A. 66 rig with 13855 tooth E 475 shank would do. Mail Warwick steel dogs coulter clamp etc. We met Dr.Landenberg whom we are considering for our laboratory head.
