FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28 1947 A letter this morning from Les Sundeen saying the non removable shield as I had designed from one piece of steel (see Jan 31) would be difficult to draw under a press. At Harvester Works this morning found Coultas & Al Johnson had made a shield [Drawing: non removable shield] like this that seems to fill the bill. I'm only anxious that some kind of a shield be adopted for next year sure! At 2136 Brady in evening after supper at Lees. Elise had a heart palpitation over there and felt miserable. Bill Cade & Lee there at 2136 and drew a large tiger skin.
