THURSDAY Jan 2 1947 Some snow with more predicted. Lee & Bill's furnace blew soot out oover the house yesterday making an awful mess. They will get $7500 damages. [Note written by Bill] Bill Brown reports that he had a splendid two weeks at home ; during which period fatted ~calves were killed. and socks were mended. I wonder why I ever leave home ! Bill left for St. Louis at 750 this evening. He is going to visit the Golschmann's till Sunday when he leaves for New York. It has been wonderful having him here.
