347 December 13 THURSDAY Clear All day in field at Bourdette with McCormick, Harold White CR White Silver, Hackett Hanson & Weathers. First tried B. with 80 tread using B-20 middle breaker with one 20" share & no moldboard, cutting out cotton stalks. The beam for 38" rows being set 19" off center. This allowed rear wheels to run in row. Plowed every other row, then plcing beam in center plowed out with middle breaker bottom doing the kind of job Weathers wants and which he says is satisfactory. Then went o Seagraves plantation and tried F-12 with middle breaker set in to 443/4 tread. The tractor & outfit do not handle well, but it does seem to be possible to relist. There is some question about skipping rows but that way seems the best. Tried B in to 48" tread and it did same as IHC F-12. Think however we should for this year use B20 and offset bottoms & see how IHC make out. We should probably design a towed 1 row lister than can be attached by a swing draw bar to latch off center.
