[Letter: Bill, Monday Apr.25,1938] What a weekend, probably the most exciting one of my life. Lee came down to New Haven at 9 on Saturday with Betty Andrews and Ginny Wall. We had a very pleasent ride down, stopping at Rosemary tofind that they had an epidemic of scarlet fever at the time!. After skillfully getting in New York, we went to Dinnys Park Avenue apartment, and had a very pleasent luncheon. Then off to the circus at Madison Square Gardens, a real treat! It was quite exhausting but an awful lot of fun, the most glorified affair I have seen.
