Saturday, January 20, 1940 Blackhawk Hike this afternoon. 30 there. It was thru the deep snow dry as powder with temperature about 10° above zero. We went thru Blackhawk State Park and one mile of this travel equalled 2 or 3 on the bare ground. The woods with trees covered with snow was a delight to the eye. The Stones were here for dinner. they are going to Key West for February.
