Wednesday, June 15, 1938 [Newspaper article: Miss Elise Brown In Graduating Class At Smith This Year] Nearly 2" more rain last night. This afternoon I took Charley Wiman out to Ferdinand Goetsch to see the new double lift. Charley expressed himself as very much pleased. He tried it in the field and Goetsch was most enthusiastic, altogether a successful trip. Charley said he wanted me to stay with Deere & Co. and never retire. Later I could go and come as I liked and have less salary. It sounds good to me. Elise & I went over to say Good Bye to her mother and Oty. Later in the evening the George Peeks called.
