Public DepositedTuesday, September 28, 1937 Rain A rather dismal cold rainy day. Elise & I worked hard til 230 closing the house. Mother & Kate came up durring the morning. We drove to Northampton via Barre 61 miles in the rain, the foliage was gorgeous. Lee had her room fixed up very atractively. We brought two tables from Princeton Mrs Barron asked us to stay at the house for dinner, which we werw glad to do. It was interesting to meet the girls They are a fine type. We called on Helen Choate whom I used to know at Choate Island. She is dean of Lee's class. Then on to Dorothy Ainsworth, she was out but Carol Getz was in. Then called on the Hyde's He is treasurer of the college and has taken a great shine to Lee. He said that their coal bill was $73000.00 last year.
