Dombey and Son
Public DepositedDombey and Son (1846-48) treats the impact of the commercial world on personal life, and includes Dombey’s neglected daughter Florence as a far more important character than the son of the title. The 20 monthly serial parts appeared between October 1846 and April 1848, with the 19th and 20th installments appearing as a double number. The wrapper design and illustrations are by Hablot K. Browne.
