64 Saturday, Mar. 5, 1927 Tried the 5 row cultivator today. Using the high guide bands it seems to guide pretty well. To get more dodge to the front shovels we moved them out in front of the front wheels. That is we did one one set of rigs. It seemed very noticeable that this helped materially. Hornberg is convinced that the blind center row will never get by. I may be wrong but I cant help feeling that it should be possible to do cultivating satisfactorily and know what is going on. This is a hard trip -- We will probably need parallel lift on rigs on account of striking front axle and radius rods. Hope to try this further Monday.
