Public DepositedWednesday, April 21, 1937 Rain Frank Silloway tok his car (Cadillac) with Charlie Stone, Burt Peek, T.P Wharton and me to Horicon. Started at 830 and reached there at 115 in time for lunch. Frank & I took turns driving. It is good company to be with. At a meeting of the Can Brunt Co. I was made a director. Fred Clausen saying I had donw a good deal for Van Brunt. A dinner in evening given by the Advancement Association of Horicon for the 100th year of Deere. 75th of Van Brunt &25th of the affiliation of the two. Fred Clausen gave a fine talk to the Men on labor matters. He told of all that Deere & Van Brunt have done for labot in the matter of pensions insurance savings etc. He said he hoped the men would not let the CIO stampege them. He said they were better off without unions & dues to pay. Silloway and Peek both made talks. We spent night at Madison.
