Public DepositedSunday, May 4, 1941 Clear [Headlines: Democrat; War news] Rather warm, need rain badly. This morning Elise and I drove out to Osborn and got a number of blue bell plants which we planted near our tulip tree. We also picked a large bunch of violets taking them to Lilli Huber who has broken her arm. Alone for dinner. At 142 Bill arrived to stay for two weeks. How good to have him with us. He looks very well, and has been getting into shape in the Whitney Gymnasium. He has gained five pounds in weight. In late afternoon we took the Stones out to Red Sinclairs to see the Red Buds and Blue Bells.
