Thursday, February 22, 1940 [Postage Stamps: 1,2,3,5,10 cents] Train very late. We reached Rock Island at 11:20 minus breakfast. Found Lee at home, she came down on the Rocket last evening. She is a dear and so enthusiastic about all the articles she is getting for her truseau. She cooked a fine dinner, showing what she has learned at cooking school. School is open tomorrow so she had to go back on tonight's sleeper. The 2 Elises and Bill are planning to go to Washington March 15th and in a week I expect to meet them in Worcester.
