SUDAY 3 Saturday, October 2, 1937 Clear SUNDAY Church in morning with Elise Then Outing Club with Elise as guests of mother. The Louries asked me to go on the Susie III their cabi cruiser from the Moline bridge on the Rock River to the Davenport boat club. We went thru 3 locks in the Rock river and the large locks by the Government bridge. Wish Elise could have gone but her mother wanted to visit so she could not get away. The large lock is 600 ftlong 110 feet wide and the height of water 181/2 feet. so to let the boat thru the lock emptied 9 million gals of water or 76 million pounds. !!! or 38156 tos.
