Tuesday, April 21, 1931 -Cold- Cloudy Motherarrived this morning reaching Moline at 7. We all met her at the train. It was very, very hard to tell mother of Uncle Ed's passing. I had dreaded this. It was sad to see mother so affected. In the evening she talked with Nellie on the phone. I called Kate that mother had arrived. Mother looks thin but rather better than I had dared expect.
