Public DepositedFriday, March 12, 1937 Clear I drove J.C.Dickerman to Ottumwa and back today. He is a very interesting man and is trying to get the facts for the Federal Trade Commission and wants to have out side presented in correctly. One point he made to get proof on is about the prices we get for export goods as compared to prices of the same product in the domestic marker. He said congress has the idea that implements are sold cheaper abroad. Talked to Frank Sillowy on phone from Ottumwa as he could get the evidence ready to show Mr Dickerman tomnorrow. Government men are allowed $500 a day for expenses and so not have to itemize the expense amount. Ther are 26 days of leave in a year etc. Spent 4 hoursat Ottumwa. Home at 5 - Letter form Amy [??] Evarts Jr's engagement to Verna Hartranft a nurse at St Anthony's for a year "Verna seems to be the right one for him in every respect. She a beautifulgirl, radiant and loved by everyone. D.J. Millikan telephone that he had not made any maple syrup yet so will have to rearrange tomorrows hike.
