THURSDAY 317 November 13 Cloudy With Ben Kough, McKahin & Ted Johnson drove to Waterloo today. Conference with Head, McCormick & Ramsdell. Decided 1. To make front axle for Michigan (adjustable) 2. To make tractor strong enough so rear wheels can be reversed 3. To make front axle for California for 56" tread and the for 28" bean rows then to use regular G.P. tractor with rear wheels reversed. 4. To use the regular G.P. with Michigan equipment for Colorado and Wyoming. 5. For 20-22-24 inch beat rows to use Wide tread tractor and the tractor so to work out proper wheels for the cultivations. 6. Tractor Redesigned and will make heavier wheel to make Wide tread suitable for 34" rows which means 68" tread. 7. Air cleaner. Change will have to be made on air cleaner so as not to interfere with 3 row cultivator. This means Changing clamping server. Tractor Co. will send us new air cleaner welded into position. 8. Swinging seat. They agree to furnish swinging seat and have ready Jan 1. 9. Hand throttle they have taken under advisement 10. [??] on wide tread. They are looking into this. 11. Faster steer: up to them.
