MONDAY NOV. 14 1949 At a luncheon at the Golf Club given by Charley Wiman for mearly 200 to meet the Directors of the Rock Island Railroad (14) who met today in Moline. Senator Scott Lucas and Robert Hipperfield Representative from this district were present. J.D. Farrington president of th Rock Island made a good talk as did Scott Lucas. A letter from Bill today " The other night I went to see the Tri-Cornered Hat ballet of De Fella with the original Picasso decor & choreography of Massine quite exciting - and Massine danced the lead although he is 53", also "Tonight I hear Geiseking. Thelast itme was so many years ago. I hear he is still about the greatest of them all." "Ive spent some time recently in museums, there are many great pictures here, althought of course Italy has much richer. And then Paris is always full of exhibitions of some sort such as the one on Chopin to commorate the 100th anniversary of his death. It contains the famous portrait by Delecroix, one of his pianos, most of his manuscripts and letters."
