Pow-wow on the Dark Horse
公开Walter Thompson, left, and Edmund Curtis, engineering students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, have entered the Clean Air Car Race with a car called the Dark Horse, a modified Mustang equipped with a powerful tube in Curtis's hand, The tube, an "agglomerator," helps reduce the vehicles exhaust emission of particles. Dark Horse meets the proposed Federal emission standards for 1975, but may be the only entrant nor trying to win the race from Cambridge, Mass., to Pasadena, Calif. Dark Horse aims to show how components already in mass production can be assembled and engineered together now as a speedy way to help reduce automotive air pollution.
