Tuesday, May 6, 1941 Clear/Rain [Headlines: Tribune;War news] Drove to Ottumwa this morning early reaching there at 930. Met Charley Wiman there and he drove home with me. We were in the field with Moschel. Tuft, Jones & Hill. Saw the new ensilage harvester that Tft built in the field cutting alfalfa. It worked first rate and weighs 1360 lbs [drawing: ensilage harvester?] as against 1610 of the one we built last year of to lawn mower type. and 1750 I.H.C. We also saw one of the new No 62 cutters which is the [windsor?]pick up harvester in field. It worked well. Also new small pick up hay press and baler. The Dain Factory cant produce all the goods needed as demand is so great. Home 545P.M. [Heeadlines: Moline Daily Dispatch; World news]
